Εχτές παρακολούθησα ένα ντοκιμαντέρ στις νύχτες πρεμιέρας που σε βάζει στην θέση σου αν βρίσκεσαι στην κατηγορία ανθρώπων που ότι τους συμβαίνει καθημερινά το μεταφράζουν απαισιόδοξα και μοιρολατρικά.
Πρόκειται για μία μπάντα χόμλεςς κονγκολέζων αλλά και παραπληγικών συγχρόνως λόγω γονικής αμέλειας στην αντιμετώπιση της πολιομυελίτιδας.
Οι άνθρωποι αυτοί λοιπόν χρησιμοποιούν την κατάντια σαν εφόδιο στην δημιουργία
Η αισιοδοξία που αποπνέει η προσπάθειά τους βγήκε από το πανί της προβολής και μας κυρίευσε καθώς το όχημα της ήταν το ανυπέρβλητο χιούμορ του αρχηγού της μπάντας αλλά και των πιό πολλών συντελεστών.
Οι πρωτοπόροι Γάλλοι στα ντοκιμαντέρ έδειξαν γιά άλλη μία φορά το πόσο σοβαρά αντιμετωπίζουν ότι αναλαμβάνουν και έτσι από ρόουντ τριπ που ξεκίνησαν με θέμα τους μουσικούς του δρόμου βρέθηκαν να βοηθούν αυτούς τους τύπους να ηχογραφήσουν και τελικά να βρεθούν στην Ευρώπη για να παίξουν σε φεστιβάλ και κλαμπ.Όλο αυτό σε μία πορεία 5 χρόνων περίπου.

2009 Music Zeitgeist

Blogs, sites και media παντός είδους, παραδοσιακά στο τέλος κάθε χρονιάς επιδίδονται στην εκπόνηση κάθε λογής top-λίστας για τη χρονιά που πέρασε (2009) -ή εκτάκτως φέτος και καταχρηστικά για τη δεκαετία (2000-2010). Μια δοκιμή θα σας πείσει..

Το arxediaMEDIA από την άλλη τηρεί μια άλλη παράδοση που εδράζει στην εδώ και καιρό παραίτησή μου από την προσπάθεια της cutting-edge παρακολούθησης των εξελίξεων στο χώρο της μουσικής. Η μέθοδος που έχω διαλέξει είναι -περίπου- να περιμένω την απολογιστική διάθεση που με αυτόν τον μεταφυσικό τρόπο κατακλύζει τους ανθρώπους στις γιορτές και να περιμένω τους καρπούς της. Το φιλτράρισμα τη σήμερον ημέρα είναι κάτι παραπάνω από crucial όπως και το πού ή ποια μέθοδο θα εμπιστευθείς για αυτή την τόσο καθοριστική λειτουργία -αλλά αυτό είναι μια άλλη συζήτηση, στους καρπούς είχαμε μείνει γαμώτο, ξεκόλλα!

Οι καρποί λοιπόν της ελληνικής μουσικής μπλογκόσφαιρας που παραδοσιακά στηρίζουμε κάθε χρονιά -αφού μας έπρηξαν τα rss για 1 μήνα με το ψυχαναγκαστικό καθημερινό τους countdown- απέδωσαν στο κοινό τα Top 40 Albums του 2009 (1-20, 21-40)

Φέτος όμως αυτό που μου άρεσε είναι τα Top 50 Albums του hype machine. Εκεί "..the top 50 Albums of 2009 sourced from 550 bloggers personal top 10 lists weighted according to their ranking". Internationally speaking..

Έχει μεγάλο κοινωνιολογικό ενδιαφέρον γιατί κάτι τέτοιες μέθοδοι και στη μία και στην άλλη περίπτωση καταγράφουν αυτό που και η ίδια λέξη λέει : Αφενός το τί είναι hype αποτελεί τεράστιο και συμπυκνωμένο πληροφοριακό πλούτο για τον κόσμο που σε περιβάλλει, αυτήν τη στιγμή, αφετέρου σίγουρα εκεί μέσα θα βρεις αυτά που σε περιμένουν να τα βρεις.

Και για να ολοκληρώσω : Χρησιμοποιήστε την πορτοκαλί μπάρα για να πλοηγηθείτε στις δεκάδες του Top50 και ακούστε επί τόπου με ένα click ..ολόκληρα τα albums! A-yeah!

the Golden Record

The Voyager Golden Record is a phonograph record included in the two Voyager spacecraft launched in 1977. It contains sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth. It is intended for any intelligent extraterrestrial life form, or far future humans, that may find it.

Voyager 1 was launched in 1977, passed the orbit of Pluto in 1990, and left the solar system (in the sense of passing the termination shock) in November 2004. It is now in empty space. In about 40,000 years, it and Voyager 2 will each come to within about 1.7 light-years of two separate stars: Voyager 1 will have approached star AC+79 3888, located in the constellation Ophiuchus; and Voyager 2 will have approached star Ross 248, located in the constellation of Andromeda.

In May 2005, Voyager 1 was 14 billion km from the Sun and traveling at a speed of 3.5 AU per year (approximately 61,000 km/h, or 38,000 mph) while Voyager 2 is about 10.5 billion km away and moving at about 3.13 AU per year (approximately 53,000 km/h, or 33,000 mph).

Voyager 1 has entered the heliosheath, the region beyond the termination shock. The termination shock is where the solar wind, a thin stream of electrically charged gas blowing continuously outward from the Sun, is slowed by pressure from gas between the stars. At the termination shock, the solar wind slows abruptly from its average speed of 300 to 700 km per second (700,000–1,500,000 miles per hour) and becomes denser and hotter.

As of 2008, the Voyager spacecraft became the third and fourth human artifacts to escape entirely from the solar system. Pioneers 10 and 11, which were launched in 1972 and 1973 and preceded Voyager in outstripping the gravitational attraction of the Sun, both carried small metal plaques identifying their time and place of origin for the benefit of any other spacefarers that might find them in the distant future.

With this example before them, NASA placed a more comprehensive (and eclectic) message aboard Voyager 1 and 2 — a kind of time capsule, intended to communicate a story of our world to extraterrestrials.

“	This is a present from a small, distant world, a token of our sounds, our science, our images, our music, our thoughts and our feelings. We are attempting to survive our time so we may live into yours.

The record is constructed of gold-plated copper. There is an ultra-pure sample of the isotope uranium-238 electroplated on the record's cover. Uranium-238 has a half-life of 4.51 billion years. It is possible that a civilization that encounters the record will be able to use the ratio of remaining uranium to daughter elements to determine the age of the record.

The contents of the record were 115 images and a variety of natural sounds, such as those made by surf, wind, and thunder, and animal sounds, including the songs of birds and whales. To this they added musical selections from different cultures and eras, spoken greetings in fifty-five languages, and printed messages from President Jimmy Carter and U.N. Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim. The 115 images are encoded in analogue form. The remainder of the record is audio, designed to be played at 16⅔ revolutions per minute.

As the probes are extremely small compared to the vastness of interstellar space, it is extraordinarily unlikely that they will ever be accidentally encountered. If they are ever found by an alien species, it will most likely be far in the future, and thus the record is best seen as a time capsule or a symbolic statement rather than a serious attempt to communicate with extraterrestrial life.
